Year 5 marks an exciting step into Upper Key Stage 2, where children take on the responsibilities and opportunities that come with being in the top half of the school. As they grow in confidence and independence, we support them in developing the skills they need both academically and personally.

Our engaging curriculum takes children on a journey through Ancient Egypt, the world of the Anglo-Saxons, and the fascinating story of The Titanic, where they experience life as either a first-class or third-class passenger. They also explore Pakistan, investigate Earth and Space, and learn about the formation and features of mountains.

Alongside their academic learning, Year 5 helps children prepare for the opportunities and challenges that come with growing up. Through dedicated learning about relationships, wellbeing and online safety, children develop the knowledge and confidence to make positive choices, build strong friendships and thrive both in the real world and online.

Year 5 is a year of challenge, discovery and personal growth, helping every child to flourish as they prepare for their final year of Bushfield.
